Leader Preparation

Candidates enrolled in the Educational Leadership Program at Lipscomb University are immersed in a competency-based leadership curriculum focusing on four core areas of leadership: Ethical Leadership, Visionary Leadership, Instructional Leadership, and Organizational Leadership. All candidates are paired with a school-based leadership mentor to engage in authentic learning experiences. As a requirement for graduation, M.Ed. candidates conduct an action research study and Ed.S. candidates develop a research-based professional development opportunity to be delivered at the school- or district-level. The program is aligned with the Tennessee Instructional Leadership Standards (TILS) and is designed to be completed in 15 months. Candidates earn an M.Ed. or Ed.S. and the administrative endorsement upon satisfactory completion of all program requirements and passing the School Leader Licensure Assessment (SLLA).
