Contact information

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville provides a range of high-quality, flexible, and barrier-free programs for anyone, anywhere, at every stage of life who aspires to become a professional Tennessee teacher and impact their community. These programs are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with the convenience of 100% online options. A distinctive feature of our Job-Embedded program is its accessibility to non-certified staff and community members who possess a Bachelor's degree in any field. Additionally, we present an innovative Grow Your Own Pathway (GYO) through our Apprentice program. This unique initiative allows aspiring teachers to serve as Educational Assistants in a school setting while fulfilling the requirements for teacher licensure, often at minimal or no cost. The GYO program is also entirely conducted online, providing flexibility for participants. Beyond teacher education, we extend licensure opportunities in various fields such as school social work, school counseling, school psychology, audiology and speech pathology, and instructional leadership. Our comprehensive programs equip educators with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support student learning. Upon graduation, our graduates emerge with the professional expertise, skills, and attitudes needed to excel as 21st-century educators and contribute meaningfully to student learning and growth.
